Roseau, Dominica – Prime Minister of Dominica and Minister for Finance, the Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, has congratulated the graduates of an apprenticeship training module. 119 men and women graduated from the Hospitality, Culinary Arts, and Manicure/Pedicure Apprenticeship Training Module at a ceremony at the Cabrits Cruise Ship Birth on Thursday, February 20, 2014.
Prime Minister Skerrit told participants that he is very proud them for having completed the training. “You stuck through the programme and you have been benefiting from the results of your perseverance.” The Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister Skerrit further encouraged the newly trained individuals to not let the training be an end to their development. He called on them to be diligent in the workforce to ensure longevity of employment. “You are going out in the service industry where you have to be providing service to the guests of your establishment. Respect for time, respect for self and respect for people are going to be paramount.” Prime Minister Skerrit stated.
The participants of the module were trained in bar-tending, housekeeping, front desk operations, wait staffing, manicure and pedicure, culinary arts and customer service.
